I'm a designer on some not-yet-announced projects at 5 Lives Studios. I've designed combat and quest systems, established chapter structures, designed levels and generally developed the world, the narrative and all the key characters.

Capes, Spitfire Studios
I wrote and edited in-game cutscenes and dialogue, as well as provided punch-up rewrites on previously established scenes. They were already good, but I made them better.

Tempopo, Witchbeam Studios
I was narrative consultant on Tempopo - I helped the developers craft a story and setting that allowed them to marry their gameplay mechanics to their desired art style.
2021
Grow: Song of the Evertree, Prideful Sloth
I wrote most of the major narrative beats in the game along with the tutorials for all the major gameplay mechanics - entirely in-character, too. I was also responsible for the hundreds and hundreds of reactive lines that the proc-gen townsfolk had. I spent a lot of time in spreasheets.
2020
Windbound, 5 Lives Studios
I wrote descriptions and lore text for the hundreds of items in the game; everything from the blessings of the gods down to the sticks and rocks. The rock was my favourite. I also provided a bunch of additional narrative design and punch-up writing.

A World in My Attic, Defiant Development
While this project never saw the light of day, I was heavily involved in the worldbuilding, combat design and systems design for this board-game inspired open-world RPG. Buy me a beer and I'll tell you all about it.
2017
Hand of Fate 2, Defiant Development
Not only did I copy-edit and punch up all 200,000 words of this award-winning action-roleplaying game, but I also designed a bunch of content including encounters, enemies, endless mode variants, and I played a key role in our combat overhaul patch. I also oversaw our Twitch integration, leading to the creation of some of the best audience-participation tools seen in any game to date.

I can design your game, write your narrative and build your world. I can't kill anybody (so don't ask). I can show you pictures of my dog, and I'm willing to join your World of Warcraft guild.
